Get started
This website is designed to help you with funding applications.
There is a horizontal menu bar above to take you to the various sections of this website.
We advise you to look through the 'Help & Advice' section before using the 'Search for funding' option.
The 'Help & Advice' is divided into sections which are tabbed for ease of use. These are arranged under 'Preparation', 'Funding', 'Applications', 'Spending' and 'Next'. This will take you through the whole funding process.
Once in one of these sections there is a menu list on the left to take you to every page within the section.
'Preparation' will help ensure that you have everything in place and that you are ready to make a funding application.
'Funding' will help you identify which sources of funding are most appropriate for you.
Do look at the 'Applications' section to see what is necessary in making an application and the differing requirements for the various sources of funding.
Once you have looked at these sections it will be useful to have a glance at the 'Spending' and 'Next' sections to see what you will need to do when funding is in place and when it comes to an end.
Then you will be ready to 'Search for funding' or to make use of leads you may have gained from the 'Sources of funding' section.
There is also a 'In your area' section of pages with local information about some sources of local funds and where to get help locally.
What goes wrong
Major reasons for failure to obtain funding are:
- Applying for funding before you are ready and capable of dealing with funds.
- Applying for funding for which you are ineligible.
- Applying for funding for purposes which the funder cannot fund.
- Not giving all the information, when applying for funding, that the funder requires.
- Poor presentation of your case for being funded.
Rushing into Searching for funding before you are ready can result in a lot of wasted time, energy and disappointment. Taking your time at an early stage will pay off later.
Do take advantage of the advice services and training that are available to you. There is a lot of knowledge and expertise around and the novice should not be alone to learn by bitter experience.
